Hult, 28, appeared for a preliminary court hearing in Milwaukee County, she was charged on May 6, 2024 with one felony count for 1st-degree reckless homicide and use of a dangerous weapon in connection with the March 22, 2020 homicide of her husband José Santiago, 35, whose body was found inside a parked vehicle at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery at the 3500 block of S. 13 Street in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Santiago was fatally shot in the back of the head. Police recovered a .38 Cal. spent cartridge in the vehicle and a McDonald’s soft drink receipt and several soft drink cups and straws at the crime scene.

If convicted, Hult is facing up to 60 years in prison. She is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.

Santiago was originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the MIXFITS Motorcycle Club.

According to the criminal complaint, police were able to connect Hult to Santiago’s homicide by DNA, her fingerprints found in one of the several McDonald’s soft drink cups including a straw, through a cellphone locator placing her at the crime scene, and a FaceTime 2021 video recording where she had threatened to kill a live-in girlfriend in Arizona after they got into an argument and Hult told her that she had killed her husband and had bodies on her.

A former boyfriend also told police that when they were living together in California, that she had told him several times, that Hult killed her husband.

Apparently, Hult had found text messages between her husband and another woman, and Hult confronted Santiago about it, according to police.

Hult’s next court conference hearing is set for July 10th.
