Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, the family of Anastacio Hernández Rojas, 42, an undocumented immigrant who was brutally beaten and tasered multiple times by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents and later died at a hospital filed a petition with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (ICHR) in Washington, D.C. to sue the U.S. for the torture and homicide of Hernández Rojas. In November 2015, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) decided not to prosecute or file felony murder charges against eight U.S. Border Patrol agents, Customs and Border Protection agents including four supervisors who watched and encouraged the deadly abuse of Hernández Rojas at the San Isidro Port-of-entry crossing for lack of evidence.
The DOJ said, that the agents involved used reasonable force to subdue Hernández Rojas. It was later discovered that 15 to 25 border patrol agents participated while others watched Hernández Rojas get beaten, kicked and tased repeatedly while in handcuffs at the U.S. border crossing.
Hernández Rojas pleaded for help and for the agents to stop beating and repeatedly tasering him as dozens of witnesses watched and video recorded including taking pictures of the incident from the border bridge crossing.
The agents later confiscated witnesses cellphones, deleted videos and photos. The agents didn’t even file reports that at least 30 witnesses were present during the incident. The witnesses were also dispersed from the scene in an attempt to cover-up the brutal beating and homicide of Hernández Rojas. Only three witnesses were later interviewed by San Diego police.
A cellphone video later surfaced showing the border patrol agents beating and tasering Hernández Rojas multiple times who pleaded for help.
The ICHR is the only human rights international commission that has jurisdiction and authority to hear an individual complaint against the U.S. for human rights violations.
In an interview with Democracy Now, Roxanna Altholz, an international human rights lawyer and scholar, including an associate director at the University of California-Berkeley’s International Human Rights Law Clinic says, that since Hernández Rojas murder in 2010 by border patrol agents, at least 40 to 50 undocumented immigrants have been killed by agents and none of the border patrol agents involved have been held accountable or brought to justice.
The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office classified Hernández Rojas death as a homicide. Hernández Rojas autopsy revealed that he had five broken ribs, had suffered from a lack of oxygen to his brain for 8 minutes causing brain dead as a result of a heart attack attributed to the beating and taser’s electrical shocks, had abrasions/contusions to the face, arms and legs including a large hematoma.
Judge M. James Lorenz of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of California on September 29, 2014 determined that the U.S. Border Patrol agents identified as Phillip Krasielwicz, Gabriel Ducoing and Derrick Llewellyn; Immigration Enforcement Agents Harinzo Naraisnesingh and Andre Piligrino; Customs and Border Protection Officers Kurt Sauer and agent Allen Boutwell; Border Patrol Supervisors Ishmael Finn, Guillermo E. Avila and Edward C. Caliri, and Custom and Border Protection Supervisor Ramon De Jesús were responsible or contributed to Hernández Rojas death in 2010.

Latinos Plan Massive Protest And March Against Trump During CNN Debate In Milwaukee

Three candidates for the Republican nomination for president especially Trump will face a major protest and march by Latinos in Milwaukee at the scheduled CNN Riverside Theater debate.

March 27, 2016

Milwaukee, WI – On Tuesday, a massive protest and march against Trump and two other candidates for the Republican nomination for president will take place in Milwaukee. Voces de la Frontera (VDLF), a workers and immigrant rights organization called on Latinos from Wisconsin and surrounding states to unite and peacefully protest Trump’s bigoted campaign that has spread hate and promoted violence against those protesting its White supremacy racist propaganda targeting Latinos, Afro-Americans and Muslims, including undocumented immigrants and other minorities in America. Trump has referred to his hate speech as politically correct speech today, but hate speech is not considered free speech by protesters.
VDLF, Latinos and supporters will march from the Milwaukee Southside to downtown and will meet up with other groups to protest Trump’s White supremacy campaign to spread hate and violence against Latinos and other minorities in the U.S. Trump was endorse by White supremacy groups, which are helping him to spread hate targeted at Latinos, Afro-Americans and Muslim-Americans.
When Trump first announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president, he falsely accused Mexico of sending rapists and criminals to the U.S. illegally and then recently generalized that in order to keep terrorists out of America after the Brussels bombing attacks, Muslims must be prevented from visiting or immigrating to the U.S.
Also Ted Cruz, another Republican candidate added fuel to Trump’s bigoted speech by suggesting that Muslim neighborhoods where large concentrations of the Muslim population reside should be patrolled by law enforcement to prevent terrorism. Cruz couldn’t specifically identified an area where he thought terrorist cells existed to support his call for patrolling Muslim communities.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. hasn’t confirmed, if he will help provide added security for Trump in Milwaukee along with the Secret Service and Milwaukee police after VDLF and another group petitioned the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors to prevent Sheriff Clarke from participating in security after he went on FOX News and suggested that Trump supporters when faced with counter protesters to “hit first and hit hard” when they faced a threat of an attack by an anti-hate protester.
Other protests in Wisconsin against Trump events are expected in Janesville and Green Bay as well.
The Secret Service says that it will monitor all the organized protests against Trump and his campaign events.
Information leaked from Republican Governor Scott Walker’s Office indicates that he will most likely endorse Trump for the Republican nomination for president and as a gesture of good will, he is expected to sign the Republican legislative bill SB 533 into law prohibiting local municipal identification cards to be issued to undocumented immigrants in Milwaukee County. A similar bill was introduced in the Arizona state legislature, but it failed to pass.
SB 533 was co-sponsored by WI Republican State Representative Yesenia Eldermira Rodriguez, aka, “Jessie Rodriguez” from Franklin who was an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador and later became legalized in the U.S.

In Milwaukee: People participating in the protest will gather in front of the Voces de la Frontera offices at 1027 S. 5th Street on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. and the march will then proceed at 5:00 p.m. to the Milwaukee downtown Riverside Theater where Trump and the two other candidates will participate in a Republican debate hosted by CNN.
