Lake Geneva, WI – On Friday, Patrick Robert Francis Garcia, 19, was arrested shortly after leaving the scene of a motorcycle crash that left a 22-year-old female motorcycle passenger injured at the scene. According to Lake Geneva Police Chief Michael S. Rasmussen, on Friday, May 6th at approximately 7:39 p.m., an officer observed a motorcycle driven by Garcia traveling at a high rate of speed on North Edwards Boulevard south of Sheridan Springs Road.
A short time later, the officer found that the motorcycle had crashed at the intersection of North Edwards Boulevard and Sheridan Springs Road. The operator of that motorcycle was later identified as Garcia of Lake Geneva, who fled from the crash on foot. A 22-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle was left injured at the scene by Garcia. She was transported to Lakeland Medical Center and later flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. She is listed in stable condition.
Garcia was located a short time later in the 400 Block of Spring Street. Garcia was arrested and booked into the Walworth County Jail. Charges for vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer causing great bodily harm, reckless driving endangering safety and operating a motorcycle without a valid license will be referred to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office. Police believe speed and fleeing from an officer are the main factors of the crash.
The City of Lake Geneva Police Department was assisted by the Lake Geneva Fire and EMS Departments and the Wisconsin State Patrol, according to Police Chief Rasmussen.
