Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee police during a Crime Analysis meeting held in Spanish at the St. Adalbert’s Church School identified Joshua R. Delgado, 16, as a suspect wanted in connection with two armed robberies on early Wednesday in the area of S. Howell Ave. and E. Smith Street and a second armed robbery at S. 27 St. and W. Howard Ave. Delgado and other suspects were driving a stolen 1999 Honda Civic.
The stolen vehicle was spotted by police on S. 30th St. and W. Arthur, but the suspects fled the since around 2:30 a.m. The chase ended on S. 9th and W. Washington Ave. where the vehicle was abandoned. Stolen evidence from the two victims including a female were found inside the vehicle. Delgado and a group of suspects fled the scene.
The Milwaukee Police Department released Delgado’s identity in a Community Armed Robbery alert. Delgado is known to frequent the S. 15 and W. Burnham Streets area and is associated with the Cut Throat auto theft gang. Between September 1 thru the 30, at least 125 vehicles were stolen and 57 robberies were reported in the Southside alone in the 2nd Police District Station jurisdiction, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Officer Efrain Cornejo with the Community Prosecution Unit told members of the Spanish speaking community at the Crime Analysis meeting on Wednesday to be aware and not to give any money to a healer (curandero) that has been advertising in La GranD 104.7 FM radio, a West Allis Spanish language station. The healer apparently has been scamming people, according to Officer Cornejo.
Officer Cornejo told Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that the healer (curandera), “goes by the name of Migdalia. The investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed for these recent incidents. The prior curandera that was also scamming people over the radio ad was Agueda Floris. Ms. Floris is in custody in Arizona and has been charged. I know of at least two new incidents that have been reported to police.”
Floris, 39, a psychic reading scammer allegedly scammed a local Southside woman for $20K in July of 2014. A Wisconsin warrant was issued for Floris arrest. Floris is awaiting extradition to Milwaukee County to face a felony charge for theft.
HNNUSA has found that, La GranD is known for allowing such scam healers to use their radio airwaves to advertise services, which later turn out as scams. Some healers do spent thousands of dollars to La GranD in order to advertise and reach victims in their radio coverage area. La GranD doesn’t take responsibility for such scams against its listening audience who become victims of fake curanderas.

Editors note: Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) usually don’t name juveniles sought by police unless they are charged as adults, but since the Milwaukee Police Department identified a juvenile suspect and the gravity of the alleged crimes committed, associated by a gang who steal vehicles and a Southside community armed robbery alert that was released by police, HNNUSA decided to identify the juvenile for the public safety.
