Cosala, Sinaloa, Mexico – The Mexican Marines are closing in on Sinaloa druglord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera after he eluded capture a few days ago. The Mexican Secretary of Governance confirmed that Guzmán Loera had been wounded in a leg and face, but that it wasn’t from a confrontation with Marines. A special forces unit of Mexican Marines were dispatched by military helicopters to a ranch near Cosala in the Sierra Madre area when they came under fire by Sinaloa cartel members. The helicopters were forced to retreat, but landed near by and when Marines arrived on foot at the ranch it was abandoned. Guzmán Loera suffered a leg and face wounds. He managed to escape the area with his men using all terrain vehicles.
The U.S. DEA agency intercepted a cellphone call from Guzmán Loera in Cosala and Mexican Marines were dispatched to locate Guzmán Loera. Mexican Marines are hot on his trail, according to the Secretary of Governance in Mexico.
Guzmán Loera recently escaped the Altiplano federal prison with the aid of corrupt prison guards and warden. A prison cell video recently released with audio indicates that loud jack hammer sounds could be heard and prison guards nearby Guzmán Loera’s cell and monitoring the video camera surveillance inside the cell ignored the loud sounds.
The ruling policial PRI Party is pushing for an investigation to find out who leaked the video with sound, which has embarrassed the President Enrique Peña Nieto government for widespread corrupt in the federal government and his own administration.
Anonymous has posted a video on YouTube claiming that the Mexican federal government has lied about a confrontation between Marines and El Chapó or that he was actually wounded. He is alive and no such confrontation occurred at a ranch in Cosala nor did the DEA intercept a cellphone call from El Chapo.
