Police are investigating a Milwaukee Southside homicide where a body was found at a rear parking lot of a four unit apartment building.

Milwaukee, WI – On Saturday, around 11:30 a.m. police were called to the 1200 block of S. 24th Street after several gun shots were heard. When police arrived to investigate, they found the body of a woman in the rear parking lot of a four unit apartment building. The woman was identified by police as Carmen G. Rivera-Colón, 42, apparently is a paralegal with the Durrani Law Firm and had moved to Milwaukee from Madison about two months ago and was going through a divorce, according to neighbors.
Cynthia Rich, a neighbor told Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that a surveillance camera was placed at a light pole near the parking lot where Rivera-Colón was gunned down, but the camera was removed by the City. Police are reviewing other surveillance cameras in the area.
The investigation is ongoing and suspects sought.
