Authorities searching for a male suspect who walked up to a Harris County Sheriff Deputy and killed him in cold blood at a Chevron gas station in Houston.

Houston, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that 10 year veteran in the department Deputy Darren Goforth, 47, was fatally shot execution style at a Chevron gas station located at Telge Road and West Road on Friday night by a lone suspect. Video surveillance from the gas station shows a dark completed male walk up to Deputy Goforth from behind and shot him multiple times. Goforth had just finished filling up his squad with gas and didn’t notice the suspect walking up on him.
The suspect is believe to be between the age of 20 to 25 and fled the scene in a red fleet side extended cab Ford ranger.
The homicide investigation is ongoing. Deputy Goforth was married and has two children.
Update: On Saturday, Shanon J. Miles, 30, was taken into custody for the murder of Harris County Sheriff Deputy Darren Goforth. Miles was arrested at his mother’s house, she turned him in to authorities.
