Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico – On Tuesday, Gonzalo Chaidez, 64, a deported U.S. Army Veteran passed away at 5:30 a.m. in Tijuana, Héctor Barajas, the director and founder of the Deported Veterans Support House (DVSH) announced in his Facebook (FB) account. Chaidez suffered from Tuberculosis and as a deported U.S. Veteran, he was not allowed to use his earned benefits or seek treatment at any Veteran Administration (VA) Hospital because he was deported. Under deportation, all Veterans are illegally stripped from their earned benefits under the last three presidential administrations, including President Obama’s administration.
Barajas posted on FB, “WITH GREAT SADNESS.. OUR BROTHER GONZALO CHAIDEZ , 64 YRS OLD
DEPORTED US ARMY VETERAN PASSED AWAY AT 530 AM.. ..
AT THE GENERAL HOSPITAL IN TIJUANA FAR AWAY FROM FAMILY, NO BENEFITS, HIS FAMILY WAS PRAYING FOR A RECOVERY, IT’S A HEAVY BURDEN FOR MYSELF,
TO BE PART OF THE PROCESS,
I WISH HE HAD BEEN WITH HIS FAMILY, ALSO RECEIVING HIS MEDICAL CARE THRU THE VA.
GONZALO WAS PART OF THE HOUSE..
OUR BROTHER.. HE LIVED WITH US AND BECAME PART OF OUR EXTENDED FAMILY. HE REALLY BELIEVED IN OUR CAUSE AND CARED FOR PEOPLE.”
Barajas a deported Veteran himself created the DVSH to support those displaced Veterans who have been deported to Mexico without any recourse to collect or seek earned VA benefits. Only upon death can deported Veterans return to the U.S. and receive a government burial plot and have full burial military honors, according to Barajas.
The VA only allows for deported veterans to apply in person for those earned benefits in the U.S., but all deported Veterans are not allowed from re-entering the country. If deported Veterans cross into the U.S., the feds impose heavy prison terms.
In April 21, 2014, Hector Barrios, 70, a deported U.S. Army Sergeant Veteran died in Tijuana from a heart stroke and was a house resident at the DVSH too. Barrios attempted to collect earned VA benefits for years, but was unsuccessful and died in poverty because he couldn’t return to the U.S. to apply for medical care.

What the Obama administration and the Veterans Administration don’t want America to see, it’s a national disgrace to the men and women who honorably served in the military during peace, conflict and wars.
