Racine Suspect In Connection With Roommate’s Homicide Surrenders To Police

A 27-year-old suspect sought in connection with a roommate homicide has turned himself to police.

Racine, WI – On Tuesday, Jacob Wayne Rogers, 27, a Facebook (FB) self-confessed murderer has turned himself to Racine police around 8:45 p.m., according to police. Rogers and his girlfriend, Katelyn McGraw, 22, had gone into hiding after Monday’s discovery of Andrew Jones, 27, body at an Allegro Apartment near 3 Mile Rd. and Erie Street. Jones was shot multiple times while he sat in a sofa, according to video surveillance in the apartment. The video discovered by police showed Rogers fatally shooting Jones with a handgun.
A 27-year-old man who was staying with Rogers and Jones told police that he was asleep on Monday morning when he was awaken by some gun shots and saw Rogers holding a handgun and Jones shot on the sofa.
Rogers had posted on his FB account that Jones had “stole money n threatened the wrong person.” Rogers says, that no one steals from him, according to a FB posting.
In FB, a photo of McGraw was posted showing that she had given birth to Rogers child over the weekend.
Rogers was charged for first-degree intentional homicide and use of a dangerous weapon on Monday. A warrant was issued for Rogers arrest.
McGraw was wanted for questioning in connection with Jones homicide.
